Endorsements and career paths

What are endorsements and career paths?

Endorsements are a set of classes that help you explore a career cluster. Your endorsement should be a subject or career you want to learn more about. Within each endorsement there are career paths. Career paths narrow down your classes to align with a specific career or skill set.

Why do they matter?

Endorsements and career paths set you up for success in college and your career. They help you explore a subject and build skills by taking classes related to your career goals.

Explore a subject

If you enjoy reading and writing, you may pursue the arts and humanities endorsement. This allows you to learn more about this career. You’ll take classes like reading, writing, and communications.

Build your skills

In this example, you might take classes like Creative Writing. You’ll learn reading comprehension, critical thinking, and active listening. These are skills you’ll need in college and your career.

Endorsement options

There are five endorsements you can choose from. Not all schools offer all five endorsements. Check with your school counselor to see what your school offers or to change your endorsement.
