Core classes

All students need to take core classes to graduate high school. These include science, math, social studies, and English. You’ll also take fine arts, foreign language, and physical education. Learn more about core graduation requirements.

Meet Ashanti

Ashanti is a sophomore from Round Rock, Texas, where she volunteers at the local food bank once a week. She has her sights set on attending Texas State University in San Marcos, and she knows she wants to work with children and families. Ashanti chose the Public Service endorsement to help her prepare for a career in social work.

Meet Christopher

Christopher spent a lot of time in the hospital as a child, visiting as his brother fought leukemia. Seeing all the doctors and nurses caring for his brother made Christopher want to help others. He worked hard in high school, taking extra science courses. Christopher is now finishing up his degree from Prairie View A&M University and is excited to return to his hometown of Beaumont to work as a nurse practitioner.
