To create an account:

<li>Fill out the form and choose a password</li>
<li>Verify your email address and log in </li>
</ol>
You must be at least 13 years old to create a My Texas Future account.

How do I create a My Texas Future account? 

Your account information helps us make tailored recommendations based on your goals. For example, in the Program Explorer, we will recommend education programs that match the preferences you provide in your profile, such as learning format or degree type. 
If you schedule an appointment with an advisor, we’ll share certain account information with the advisor. Before scheduling, you’ll be prompted with the Advisor Information Sharing Consent Form. Please read this form carefully before accepting.

How will you use my account information? 

To reset or change your password:

<li>Go to the <a href="/reset-password/">password reset</a> page</li>
<li>Enter your email address and select Get Code </li>
<li>Retrieve the code from your email and enter it on the page</li>
<li>Create your new password and select Reset Password</li>
</ol>

How do I change my password? 

To change your account information and preferences:

<li>Log in to your account and go to <a href="/profile/">your Learner Profile</a></li>
<li>Select Edit on the section you’d like to update (e.g., About, Experience, Learning goals)</li>
<li>Make your changes and select Save profile </li>

How do I change my account information and notification preferences? 

To delete your My Texas Future account:

<li>Log in to your account and go to <a href="/profile/">your Learner Profile</a></li>
<li>At the bottom of the page, select Delete My Texas Future account</li>
<li>Choose a reason for deleting your account and select Delete account</li>

Creating an account helps you stay on track and get personalized recommendations. An account allows you to:

<li>Save favorite articles, careers, and education programs to your profile </li>
<li>Save search filters when using the Career Explorer and Program Explorer </li>
<li>Receive tailored career and program recommendations based on your profile preferences and goals </li>
<li>Connect with enrollment advisors to get answers and advice about specific schools </li>
<li>Get personalized recommendations and reminders from our virtual advisor, ADVi </li>
</ul>

Why should I create a My Texas Future account? 

Reach out to an enrollment advisor only if you’re considering or have already applied to a specific school. This means you’ve done some research on the school already and have specific questions to ask. 
You shouldn’t reach out to an advisor with general questions you can find answers to on the school’s website or through My Texas Future.

When should I reach out to an enrollment advisor? 

Enrollment advisors can answer many questions specific to the school you’re interested in. You can ask about:

<li>Their application process, requirements, and deadlines </li>
<li>Costs and fees </li>
<li>Scholarships and other financial aid opportunities </li>
<li>Learning formats (e.g., in-person, online, hybrid) </li>

How do I pick a major? How much money can I expect to make? 

As an adult going back to school, your priorities might be a little different from someone who just finished high school. For example, you may place more value on the cost and time to complete your degree.

How do I go back to school as an adult? 

If you’re applying for a fall semester, most schools start accepting applications in August of the year prior. The deadlines will vary depending on the school, but most are between November and February. This means, if you’re planning to attend college in Fall 2024, you’re likely applying in Fall/Winter 2023.  
Timelines will change by school for different semesters and degree types.
