Submit college credits
College credits earned during high school
If you’ve taken dual credit classes during high school, you’ll need to submit a copy of your college transcript along with your college application. The college you took your classes with should help you with getting a copy. You can also check in with your high school counselor or early college high school coordinator if you need help.
Will my credits transfer?
Transfer policies
Each school has a different transfer policy. Credits may or may not transfer and apply to your degree plan. Sometimes a course you take at one school will transfer to another school but may not count as credit toward your degree.
Thankfully, transferring courses is easier in Texas than many other states. Texas has a Core Curriculum and Common Course Numbering System. This means similar courses taught at different state schools are identified by common numbers. If you plan to submit college credits you took in high school, these are usually the best courses to take.
Transfer agreements
Your college may have a special transfer agreement with another school for other courses to transfer. Be sure to meet with both your counselor and an advisor at the school you plan on attending. They can help you sort out the information and help you make the right choices.
